went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 18,
2005 after an extended period of illness. Reginald was born June 10,
1950 to Holloway and Janie Caldwell Smoot. He was a graduate of Carver
Senior High School Class of 1969. He was a retired employee from the
City of Winston-Salem-Engineering Department after 30 years of service.
He was a faithful member and Associate Minister at Spencer Memorial
Christian Church. His mother predeceased him.
He
leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 35 years, LaVerne
Wallace Smoot of the home; two daughters, LaTonya Smoot and Cecily
Smoot; three grandsons, Denard, Christopher and Bryan Smoot; his father,
Holloway Smoot; two sisters, Robbie (Roy) Wilkins, Renae
(Jeff) Davis; three brothers,
Dwight (Myra) Smoot, Fredrick (Dehavia) Smoot and Robert Smoot; a
mother-in-law, Mrs. Jennie Wallace; two sisters-in-law, Beverly
(Bernard) Wallace, Barbara (Daniel) Salley; two brothers-in-law, Ronald
Wallace, Donald (Alice) Wallace and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
Home going services
will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Greater Cleveland
Avenue Christian Church with Apostle Garland A. Wallace, Jr.,
officiating. Burial will follow in
Piedmont
Memorial
Gardens
. Family visitation will held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the
Church.
