Dilthra Smith Patton, affectionately known as "Dip," was born on August 14, 1949. She passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, in Dobson, North Carolina, at the age of 76, surrounded by the love of her family. She graduated from Paisley High School and devoted many years of dedicated service to Hanes Hosiery. She will be remembered for her strength, resilience, unwavering determination, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Dilthra was predeceased by her husband, John A. Patton; daughter, Johneetra (Moe) Patton; parents, Marrow and Joe H. Smith, Sr.; brothers, Joe H. Smith, Jr., and Terry H. Smith; sisters, Sandra Smith, Barbara G. Smith, and her beloved nephew, Hausan D'Var Smith.

She is survived by her sister, Priscilla Reid; half-brother, Darius Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who will cherish her memory.

The family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date to celebrate her life. Details will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.
