Elisa Faye McInnis‑Lark was born on April 17, 1960, in High Point, North Carolina, to the late Huster McInnis and Asalee McInnis. From her earliest days, Elisa carried a gentle spirit, a creative mind, and a heart full of compassion—qualities that shaped her life and touched everyone who knew her.
Elisa was a proud graduate of High Point University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. Her love for learning and her commitment to excellence guided her into a meaningful career in public service. She dedicated over 30 years as a Social Worker with Forsyth County DSS, where she served families with patience, empathy, and unwavering dedication until her retirement.
Elisa had a remarkable gift for beauty and creativity. She loved shopping, crafting homemade arts and crafts, and had an exquisite talent for interior decorating. Her eye for detail and her ability to transform any space into something warm and inviting were admired by all. She also cherished traveling with her sisters, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and sisterhood.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Jerry Tate and Robert Tate.
Elisa leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, David Bruce Lark, her daughter, Sydney Elisa Lark, and her loving siblings: Lovie Dorsette, Lenora Evans, Linda Steward, Gloria Bethel, Cotrelia McInnis, Cody Balem (Gertha), and Huster McInnis Jr. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Elisa’s life was a testament to kindness, creativity, and quiet strength. Her beautiful spirit will continue to shine through the lives she touched and the love she leaves behind.
