GREENSBORO, N.C. - On Friday afternoon, December 9, 2005, Evangelist Bonnie Faye Hairston's homecoming came at the home of her daughter. Bonnie was 46, at the time of death. Bonnie was born in High Point, NC on July 28, 1959, the daughter of James and Jessie Mae Hairston, Sr. Bonnie shared this birth date with her fraternal twin, Johnnie Ray Hairston.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents James and Jessie Mae Hairston, Sr.; one sister, Margie Louise Hairston, and a dear friend and former father-in-law, Deacon Ernest Ray Scott, Sr.
Her precious memory will be treasured by one daughter, Jessie (Akan) Hairston Davis of Greensboro, NC; one son, Kevin Spencer Scott, II of the home; two granddaughters, Christian Hairston and Zoe Davis of Greensboro, NC; a special niece, Shameka (James) Byers, II of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Betty (Thomas) Brown, and Beulah (Shawn) Waden both of High Point, NC; a twin brother, Johnnie (Diana) Hairston of Greensboro, NC; six additional brothers, James (Naomi) Hairston, Jr. of Trinity, NC, Julius Hairston, Robert Hairston, and Rodney (Rhonda) Hairston, all of High Point, NC, Elder Jesse (Diane) Hairston of Clemmons, NC and Bishop F.D. (Evangelist S. F.) Hairston; there are also other nieces; nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends who will treasure her memory forever.
Funeral services will be held at Noon Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Turner’s Chapel AME Church, 7615 Florence School Drive, High Point, NC 27265, with the Reverend Debbie Smith, officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until Noon Thursday at the church.
The family requests no public viewing until Thursday during the visitaion hour at the church. |
