Mother Zelma Smith Davis was born to the late Harvey Smith and Treaty Smith on August 24, 1935. She departed this life on June 17, 2018.
She was educated in the Wake County Public Schools and graduated from Johnson County Training School. She later moved to W-S, NC where she joined Temple Holiness Church where she began her spiritual walk and became known as a great woman of faith and prayer. Soon after she met Robert James Davis and the two were wed.
She was employed in the custodial and laundry departments at Silas Creek Manor and was a CNA at Winston-Salem Convalescent Center.
Many years after her retirement she moved to Lake Mary, FL with her daughter, Belinda, where she spent 9 years serving at 'The Word Center'.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Alton, Bobbie Jean, Vethilla Diann (Jesse), Robertina Denise, Belinda Ann, and Christopher James (Faith); siblings, Forrest and Victoria; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Temple Holiness Church with Bishop Earnest Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
