Yvette Denise Johnson, 55, also known as "Niese" to many of her family and friends was born on August 16, 1964 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Annie Lee Johnson and Walter Lee Hardison. She departed this earthly life for eternal life on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
Yvette was educated in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Public Schools. She maintained many jobs in retail, domestic and catering. She was a long time member of Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served as youth lead singer on "The Tots" Choir.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ardelia Johnson; and a brother, Quentin Wilson. Yvette is survived by one sister Treva (Howard) Jones.
Left to cherish her memories are: one daughter, La'Chic Johnson (Christopher) Long; a son, Antione Johnson of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; four grandchildren, De'Quante Johnson, Andala Mbengue, Diamond Hairston, and Antione Johnson, Jr.; two great granddaughters; devoted nieces, India Johnson, Tameka Johnson, and Ureca Johnson; nephews, Darrick Johnson and Reginald Johnson, (who are also known as her sisters/brothers); and James Russell (who she looked at as a loving daddy!) as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor William Brown officiating. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
