Mrs. Wyomia O'Neal Houston "Sister", a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully April 4, 2017 in Forsyth County.

She was born August 4, 1948 in Winston-Salem, NC. She was the daughter of Cornell Caesar O'Neal, Sr., and Juanita O'Neal who preceded her in death.

She was a former member of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under Reverend Samuels.

She was a graduate of Atkins High School Class of 1966 and also a graduate of Winston-Salem Business College.

She worked for Forsyth County, Reynolds Health Center and retired after 30 years of service.

She was a humble spirit who enjoyed shopping and travelling. Her loving heart will forever be cherished by her family.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband James Milton Houston; devoted only child, Wendy Janeé (Edward) Maddox; a grandson she cherished with unconditional love, Dequan Maddox; 3 brothers, Cornell (Eva) O'Neal, Jr., Raymond O'Neal, and Ronald (Tonya) O'Neal; one sister, Dr. Barbara Jean O'Neal;  close cousin, James Conrad; mother-in-law, Emma R. Houston; brothers-in-law, Lonnie (Mary) Houston and JW (Landa) Houston; sisters-in-law, Dabara Long and Katrina Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, April 8, 2017 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
