Willie C. Williams Jr., age 55, of Winston Salem, NC peacefully departed this life on Friday October 28, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. Born December 3, 1966 in Belle Glade, Florida he was the son of Willie (Brenda) C. Williams Sr. and Barbara Harden. Willie grew up in  Miami, Florida and attended Scott Lake Elementary School. Willie then moved to the Bronx, New York at age 13. While there he enjoyed playing sports like football and basketball and attended S.U.N.Y Farmingdale as a member of the track team.

In 1988, Willie moved to Springfield, Massachusetts where he worked as a personal care attendant before marrying and having two children. Willie became a Master Barber while in Springfield and held owning partnership of Exclusive's Barbershop. Willie and family moved to Winston-Salem, NC in 2001 where he worked again as a personal care attendant and barber before joining the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office as a detention officer in 2003. In 2006, Willie became a sworn Deputy Sheriff and worked as a School Resource Officer before joining the Transportation team.

Willie had a smile that could light up a room and an infectious laugh that would light you up from the inside out too. Willie was a proud and supportive father, compassionate and kind-hearted and could always be counted on to help if you were in need. He also loved connecting with family and friends (and sometimes strangers too). Whether through conversation with an understanding ear and a joke or two, or through sharing funny videos on social media, he was known to brighten your day.

Willie is survived by his children, Alyvia Williams and Quincy Williams of Winston-Salem, NC; mother, Barbara Harden of West Palm Beach, FL; father, Willie (Brenda) C. Williams Sr. of Miami, FL; stepmother, Mercedia (Timothy) Strachan; sister, Tamekia Williams of Duluth, GA; brothers, Rory Harden of West Palm Beach, FL and Andre (Felicia) Williams of Gainesville, FL; the mother of his children, Shelma Williams of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of other family members and close friends.

Willie and his legacy and love for life will continue on through his children and through all those who love him and continue to cherish his memory.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, November 11, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, November 12, 2022 at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 2320 Country Club Road Winston-Salem, NC 27104.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
