Willie Elizabeth Tate, known to family and friends as "Billie", 78 of 240 Woodland Avenue was born June 23, 1930 to Mamie Ruth and Robert Tate. She received her heavenly wings on August 5, 2008.

Billie was a retired RN from Montebello State Hospital in Maryland where she was employed for over 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Ruth Edwards; sisters, Gloria and Mamie Tate; niece, Charlene Bess; and a nephew, Kevin Fortune.

Billie leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Carolyn Galloway; a brother, Lewis "June" Tate, Jr.; nephews, William Fortune, Jeffrey Fortune, and Julious Galloway; great-nieces, Tynisha Harris, Latrvia Fortune, and Ebony Tate; great-nephews, William Fortune, Jr. and William Fortune, III; devoted friends, Sylvia and Anna Ferguson; and a host of other friends and relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11am Saturday, August 9, 2008 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Rowdy officiating.

The family extends blessings and thanks to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the tender care of their loved one.
