Obituary

Mr. Willie "BABY RAY" Davis, 72, was called home on Friday, April 20, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Duplin County, NC on May 20, 1934, the son of William Forest and Callie Lofton Davis.

He received his education in the Duplin County Public School System. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Malaria Cox Davis and they made their home in Winston-Salem, NC. He was employed at Rominger Southern Furniture Company as a shipping clerk and retired after 32 years of faithful service.

He was a member of the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Davis; one sister, Shelvia D. Edwards; two brothers, William Forest Davis, Jr. and Otha Lee Davis; one sister-in-law, Elouise Davis; four brothers-in-law, Bryant Moore, Emmitt Hardy, Lenard Parker and Lonnie Charles Wells.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Malaria C. Davis of the home; two daughters, Malinda Wilson (Reginald) of Greensboro, NC and Gloria J. Davis of Warsaw, NC; two sons, Donald Ray Davis (Deborah) of Winston-Salem, NC and Johnnie Underwood of Mount Olive, NC; five grandchildren; two brothers, Aldrich Edwin Davis of Mount Olive, NC and Moderator James A. Davis (Jean) of Wilson, NC; five sisters, Neicy Moore of Magnolia, NC, Shirley D. Wells of Wilson, NC, Dorothy Parker of Faison, NC, Mamie Sherard (Thedwood) of Goldsboro, NC and Gloria Gayle Hardy of Goldsboro, NC; one sister-in-law, Connie George (James) of Faison, NC; one aunt, Mary Davis of Goldsboro, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Tyrone Tyson officiating. Interment will follow in the Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be from 12:00 NOON until 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the Church.(
