Willie Leroy Morgan, 80, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away on June 1, 2020, after a long battle with an illness.
Willie was born in Dillon County, South Carolina to Willie and Henrietta Morgan on April 23, 1940. He attended Southside High School. He was the Supervisor of Office Supplies at Pilot Freight Carriers, and a Mail Clerk at Check Printers. Fishing, bowling, and yard work were some of his favorite hobbies.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Nancy Thomas, Clara McGill, Johnnie Mae Grooms, and Ella Walters; four brothers, Sandy Morgan, Joseph Morgan, John Morgan, and Chuck Morgan.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria H. Morgan and their five children, four daughters, Betty Morgan, Gail Morgan-Harris (Cliff), Wilma Morgan-Williams (Robert), and Ja-mell Morgan; one son, Cedric Morgan; seven grandchildren, DaRhonda Morgan, Carlton Morgan, Shenika McCrae, Lester Morgan, Jerrell Morgan, Ricky Morgan and LaKisha Morgan; five great grandchildren, Tanajah Morgan Bush, Ebony Morgan, Laila Jones, Mason Morgan, and Langston Morgan who all loving referred to him as Wiwwie; sisters, Betty Morgan, Katie Manning, Henrietta Troy, Amy Sessoms, and Reitta Mae Turner; brothers, Elder Carl Morgan (Janie), and John B. McCall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Friday, June 5, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Brother William McCormick, Jr., officiating and Rev. Carl Morgan of Dry Hollow Primitive Church, eulogist. Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
