Mr. Willie Daniel May, 64, was born August 12, 1958 in Winston-Salem, NC to Leroy and Leona May.  He departed this life on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.

He was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System, Winslam Business College, and retired from WestRock Company. Willie attended Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a lover of cars, movies, and football games.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, John H. May, Sr.; two sisters, Theresa McCall and Alma May; and his father-in-law, Wendell Jones.

Willie Daniel May is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife of 35 years, Adrian Jones May of the home; devoted son, Kynjuan May; loving daughter, Michelle May; the love of his life-his only granddaughter, Brooklyn Harrison; eleven loving siblings, Ruby (Tommy) Williams, Leroy (Olivia) May, Jr., James (Veronica) May, Beatrice (Wilton) Garrison, Pauline Simmons, Howard (Coellen) May, Terry May, Ricky (Tammy) May, Beverly May, Cynthia (Thomas) Hairston, and Mary Williamson of Winston-Salem, NC; special in-laws, Deboria May and Andrea Leach; mother-in-law, Mae Francis Jones; brothers-in-law, Mark (Kimberly) Jones, Bryan (Vicky) Jones, and George (Lorraine) Jones; special friends, Donald Eldridge and Alford Crump; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, September 9, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held at 10:30am until 11:00am on Saturday at the Church.
