Mrs. Willie Pearl Little of 3812 Drewry Lane completed her journey on this side and was summoned to go be with the Lord on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Mrs. Little was born January 7, 1945 to William F. Paulk and Irene Lewis Paulk in Douglas, GA.
She attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Carver Senior High School of Douglas, GA. Mrs. Little relocated to Winston-Salem, NC in 1963 where all five of her children were born. She was a faithful and dedicated employee of the Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center for 28 years; she did private duty nursing care, and was a Nanny for numerous years. She was last employed at Senior Services. She was a faithful member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church for many years where she served on the Missionary Ministry, The Usher Ministry where she was president, and the Pastor Aid Ministry before her health began to fade. She would assist any ministry that needed her help.
Mrs. Little was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Little; two sisters, Lillie Lewis and Inez Wootson.
She leaves not to mourn but to cherish the memories; three daughters, Sharon G. Fair, Sonya G. Teal, and Shunda Gamble of the city; two sons, Stacy and Stanley Gamble; eight grandchildren; three great-grandsons; two dedicated women, her sister-in-law and friend, Willie Mae Cherry and her cousin and friend, Lillian Ellison; her many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, admirers, and Church Family.
A homegoing celebration will be held at 1pm Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Dr. A.T. Griffey, III officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
