Mr. Willie Earl Green, aka "Papa Smurf", was born December 20, 1948 in W-S, NC. Mr. Green went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 21, 2014. He was employed at Douglas Battery for many years and WSTA. He was full of joy and humor.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted and loving wife, Devora Green; four children, Tammy Alexander, Sharon (James) Macon of W-S, NC, Willie Ervin, Jr. of Gastonia, NC, and Tammy Green of High Point, NC; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 step-children; two sisters, Sandra (Willie) Boyd and Jean Allen both of W-S, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives; and two devoted friends, Eddie Suber and George Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Theodis McFarland officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Friday at the Chapel.
