Willie James Campbell, Jr. was born on September 23, 1968, to the late Willie James Campbell Sr. and Jessie Mae Little Campbell.  He departed this earth on April 19, 2025.

Willie was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and was a graduate of Carver High School in Winston-Salem, NC, in 1986.  He attended Appalachian State University and was a member of the United States Navy, where he served in the Persian Gulf War.

Willie worked for Novant Health Food Services for 31 years until his death.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and children, Shantisa Smith and Julius Gibbs.

Willie leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 29 years E. Denise Campbell; 2 sons, Michael Smith and Willie Campbell, III; nine grandchildren, Arionna, Micari, Satavion, Kayla, JuMaya, DiRon, Zay, Julius, and Catori; one great grandson, Ka'Son; one sister, Wendy Campbell-Rowdy (Brian); one nephew, Bryant; special family members, Trina Ford and Phyllis Cox; best friends, Anthony McArthur, Charles Coleman, and Chris Withers; and a host of other family members and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00noon Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:45am until 12:00noon on Thursday at the Chapel.
