Willie Boyd, Jr. (Dickie) passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice. Dickie was born to the late Willie Sr. and Maggie Boyd on November 6, 1947 in Bishopville, SC. He was a 1966 graduate of A. H. Anderson High School where he lettered in basketball and football.

Dickie was preceded in death by his parents, son, Daryl "Pooh", and a sister, Katie Williams. He is survived by his devoted wife, Otelia Hatchett Boyd of the home, daughter, Melody "Angel" Boyd, sons, Derric Hatchett, Duan Boyd of Winston-Salem, and Kennard Marshall of Charlotte, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sisters, Elouise Boyd and Frances Sherard (Waunzo) of Winston-Salem, and Annie Brown (David) of Linden, NJ, and a brother, Jimmy Boyd (Shirley) of Winston-Salem; sisters-in-law, Loretta and Iris Hatchett of Winston-Salem, and Guscil Hatchett of Charlotte, and brothers-in-law Tyrone Hatchett (Debra), Elroy Hatchett (Cozette), and Anthony Hatchett (Sabrina) all of Winston-Salem, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends left to cherish many memories.

The family will meet with friends on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Todd Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
