Obituary

Mr. William Preston Wilson, 87 of 2804 Drewry Lane passed away on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on May 28, 1920 in Winston-Salem, NC to Issac and Louise Wilson. He was a graduate of Atkins High School and enlisted in the United States Armed Forces serving a tour of duty in Burma.

Mr. Wilson was a life-long member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where he was a member of the St. Paul Group of the Laymen's League, Superintendent-Emeritus of Supplies for Sunday school, and a member of the Baptist Training Union.

He was the former secretary and a member of the Carver Senior Citizens Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Richardean "Ricky" Wilson; two sons, Haywood Preston Wilson and Reginald (Shirley) Wilson; two daughters, Constance Wilson and Alexis Tennie; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Thurmon Wilson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Friday, December 1, 2007 from the Mount Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Serenus T. Churn, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12 Noon on Friday at the Church.
