William Sylvester Westbrook, Jr., 52 of 2363 Naomi Drive; a beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend answered the Master's call on July 25, 2009. William was born May 1, 1957 to William S. Westbrook, Sr. and Essie Gaston Westbrook. He was a 1975 graduate of East Forsyth High School and a 1979 graduate of Elizabeth City State University. He was the owner of Westbrook's Deli and Grocery and a retired Fire Fighter with the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Fire Department. He was raised in Hanes Memorial CME Church.
William was preceded in death by his mother.
He leaves to cherish his memories his father, William S. (Ernestine) Westbrook, Sr.; his children, William S. Westbrook, III and Lisa J. Westbrook; one sister, Phyllis (Larry) Westbrook-Chaney; his niece, Eboni (Jonathan) Drummond; thirteen aunts; nine uncles; the mother of his children, Lisa B. Veale; and a host of other relatives and friends.
William was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, August 1, 2009 from the Hanes Memorial CME Church with Reverend Clarence Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
