Mr. William Green Penn, Jr. affectionately known to family and friends as "Buck Penn" passed away January 7, 2010. He was born November 21, 1925 in Winston-Salem, NC to Tommy Mae and William Green Penn. Mr. Penn was a Navy veteran, a retiree of Centenary United Methodist Church, and a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George Waddell Penn; one son, James Reeves; and his son-in-law, James Bradley.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Annie E. Penn; his children, Constance Bradley, Carolyn (Billy) Miller, Gloria (James) Broadway, Sheron Ann McCloud, Wanda Gail Correll, and Shelia Reeves; an adopted daughter, Elaine Bevels; grandchildren, Robert (Angela) Moore, Antoinette (James) Britton, Maurice (Kelly) Profitt of Greenville, SC, Robert (Elizabeth) McCloud of Norfolk, VA, Ayona Reeves, NaKeshia McCloud, Geraldine Reeves, Sharma McCloud, Dwight Correll, and a very devoted granddaughter, April Broadway and partner Arthur Jackson and great-granddaughter, Latricia Moore who provided transportation, care, and support both at home and during his short stay at Golden Lambs; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a loving and devoted sister, Doroth Penn Walkert of Atlanta, GA; his daughter-in-law, Brenda Reeves; a nephew and niece, Leon (Reba) Walker and Patricia Walker of Atlanta, GA; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and family friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Grace Presbyterian Church with Dr. Samuel Stevenson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2pm on Wednesday at the Church.
