Mr. William Standard LaMaupin, Jr., 81, was born September 23, 1934 to William Standard LaMaupin and Sarah LaMaupin in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

He departed this life for a better one with the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2016.

William loved the Lord and accepted Christ at a young age and was a faithful member of St. Peter's Church and World Outreach Center for over 20 years. William served in the United States Army for 20 years and six months before he retired.
He later served as a sheriff in Hampton, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Cassandra McGrath.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Mae Fuller LaMaupin; sons, Edward (Tamela) Ketchmore of Las Vegas, Nevada, William (Angie) LaMaupin, III, and Paris LaMaupin; stepchildren, Cynthia, Ricky, Denise, and Michael Rhyne; grandchildren, Nekeysha and Andre LaMaupin, and Teleshia McGrath; two great grandchildren; brothers, Andre LaMaupin and Juan (Millie) LaMaupin; best friend, Wilbur Jackson of Las Vegas, Nevada; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Peter's Church and World Outreach Center Annex with Dr. J.C Hash officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Friday at the Church.
