On July 25, 2010 Reverend William M. Jones, Jr., 67, departed this life and went home to be with the Lord at Forsyth Medical Center.
William, "Mackie", was born on June 6, 1943 to the late William M. Jones Sr., and Katherine Warren Jones.
He attended Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and was a former employee of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. until his retirement in December 1999. In his early years, he served as Associate Minister of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Kernersville. William later went on to serve as Senior Pastor for Lovell's Chapel United Methodist Church in Pilot Mountain, NC.
He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony D. Jones; and sisters, Jacqueline Davidson, Patricia Dodd, Margaret Williams, and Regina Jones.
Left to cherish his memories is his devoted and eternal wife Annatoria Jones; his seven children, Christopher L. Jones (Tammy), Kevin Jones, William S. Jones (Toni), Christine D. Jones, Sherri J. Linville (Bobbie), Shanna J. Ellison (Ricardi), and Brian V. Jones (Novella); and 17 grandchildren, all of Kernersville, NC; four loving sisters, Gail Jones, Jennifer Huff (Marvin), Debra Watson (Samuel), of Winston-Salem, and Andrea Transou (Leon) of Kernersville, NC.
A celebration of his life and legacy will be held at 12Noon Friday, July 30, 2010 at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, Kernersville, NC. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12Noon on Friday at the church.
