William Randolph Hunt was born on April 30, 1948 to the late Walter L. and Creola Blackmon Hunt in Harlem, NY. He was one of five children born to this union.

William, affectionately called "Billy," received his education by attending Catholic Grammar School in Harlem, NY and High School in Manhattan, NY. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and served many years before retiring from the Air Force with honors as a non-commissioned officer.

After retiring from the United States Air Force, William began his second career, by working for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier, and later retired.

He was an avid sports enthusiast, and loved to play his favorite sport, basketball. William also played for his squadron basketball teams while stationed in the Air Force while stationed home or abroad.

William's hobbies included traveling, while in the military, where it allowed him the opportunity to  travel to several countries overseas, as well across the United States. After retirement, William continued his love of traveling by visiting family and or friends.

As a child, William had been a member of St. Charles Catholic Church,  of Harlem, NY and later in life continued his worship by attending St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church, Bronx, NY.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 7:55am, the Lord saw fit to call William home.

William Hunt, beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Sheila and Christine Hunt; three sons,  Michael Hunt, Robert Hunt and Joesph Sauer;  grandchildren, Ian, Antonio, El, Naveah, Avon, Reniyah, and Robert Jr; great granddaughter, Mia; siblings, Laura Hunt-Harry of Arlington, VA and  Michelle Hunt McClary of Winston-Salem, NC; several nieces and a nephew, as well as many cousins and friends.

William was also preceded in death by his parents Walter L. and  Creola Hunt of  Harlem, NY; and two brothers, Walter Hunt of Bronx, NY & Winfred Hunt of Harlem, NY.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Todd Fulton officiating. The family visitation will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday at the Chapel. Interment will be held at 9:00am Thursday, August 22, 2019 in Salisbury National Cemetery.
