Mr. William Lyndell Hickman, aka "Hit Man," was born to the late Nomie E. and Nancy Essie Hickman on December 23, 1941 in Surry County, NC. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline; four brothers, Evan, Amos, Casanova, and James Hickman; 3 brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and one son-in-law.

William is survived by his wife of 31 years, Roslyn Cooper Hickman; his children, Roger , Marie Little (Dairio), David, Evette, Casanova (Pat), Rodney, Andre, and Whitney; 5 sisters, Runetta (Claude) Payne, Estelle, Winnie (William) Speas, Audrey, and Catherine (Rockford) Penn; 2 brothers, Billy Ray (Margaret) Hickman and Kilroy Hickman; 2 sisters-in-law, Marie Hickman and Shirley Barnes; 2 brothers-in-law, Melvin McConnell and Rick (Bonnie) Cooper; 20 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Lovie Cooper; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Serenus T. Churn Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
