William Henry Greene, Sr., was born in Barnwell, South Carolina on March 2, 1922. He expired on November 3, 2017 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. He attended schools in Barnwell, SC. He also attended Hampton University in Virginia where he acquired clerical skills.

Bro. Greene was a devoted servant of Jehovah for 70 years and served as an Elder at East Winston-Salem Congregation. He participated in dramas at Conventions and other features of the ministry until he was physically unable to attend. He was always diligent in his service even when he wasn't feeling his best, his best friend Mike Mason kept him going.

He had a magnetic personality that attracted youths to him for counsel and encouragement. He was a man of great strength, wisdom, and integrity.

Bro. Greene was the father of 5 children, Margie King of Jacksonville, FL, William H. Greene, Jr. (Donna) of Indian Head, MD, Sherl Young of Chicago, IL, Carolyn Guthrie of Lynwood, IL, and Jason Greene (Ruby) of Winston-Salem, NC; 10 grandchildren, Charlie King, Carrissa King, Candace Lennon (George), William H. Greene, III (Jill), Kimberly Banks (Eoghan), Brian Thomas, Anderson Thomas, Eric Thomas, Deron Guthrie, and Katrina Guthrie; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. We will all cherish the memory of our beloved.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4259 Northampton Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
