Mr. William Howard Edmond departed this world June 5, 2009 after an extended illness. He was born in Mount Airy, NC May 8, 1927 to Richard Edmond and Maybelle Long Edmond. Mr. Edmond worked for the City of Winston-Salem Sanitation Division.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene Edmond; his brother, Robert Edmond; his sister, Maybelle Dendy; brother-in-law, Joe Dendy; and a son-in-law, Reverend Donald Salley.
He leaves to cherish his memories four daughters, Lawanda Edmond, Jeanine Salley, Debbie Edmond, and Pamela Shell; two sons, Jerry Edmond and Patrick Edmond, Sr.; two daughters-in-law, Retta Taylor Edmond and Tonya Parker Edmond; eight grandchildren, Cordesha Taylor, Anthony Edmond, Jermelle Taylor, Tamria Salley, Shamry Salley, Latisha Edmond, Patrick Edmond, Jr., and Paris Moses; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from the Kimberly Park Holiness Church with his nephew, Elder Robert Edmond officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Wednesday at the Church.
