William Nathaniel Carter, Jr., "Bill", peacefully slipped away in his sleep to be with the Lord on Monday March 29th, 2010, at the Hock Pavilion Duke Hospice in Durham, NC.
Bill was born to the late William N. Carter, Sr. and the late Lucille Joanna Bradford-Carter on June 20, 1959.
Bill lived a full productive life on his own terms and was a strong believer of God. He was educated in the Forsyth County School System, a graduate of Forsyth Technical Community College where he studied Engineering and Drafting, he was very creative and Artistic. He loved Architectural Designs and Creating New Projects As he called them. Prior to his illness he was employed as a construction subcontractor and a Painting Contractor.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an older brother Don Bradford.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife, Mary and their children, Kristina, Alicia, and Joshua; a grandson, Dalton; a loving sister, Ossie (Jerry, Sr.) Hairston; nieces, Cynthia (Antonio) Kendall of Charlotte, NC, Renea Hairston of Winston-Salem, NC; a nephew, Jerry, Jr.(Cieanna) Hairston of High Point, NC; brother-in Law, Donald James (Princess) of Los Angeles, CA; all of the Pettway/Major Family whom loved him dearly; his uncle, David (Louise) Lowery; and a host of many cousins, great nephews, great niece, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday April 5, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel 822 Carl Russell Ave. W-S, NC 27101. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1pm on Monday at the funeral home.
