William "James" Birch was called to rest in peace on October 2, 2013. He was born December 29, 1935 to the late Ervin and Julia Birch. A native of Hemingway, SC, he later moved to W-S, NC.

James was a retiree of Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. and a faithful member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers; and two sisters.

Remaining to honor his memory are three daughters, Sylvia Conner, Cecily Cundiff (Rick), and Lynette Jones (Shaun); one son, William Birch, Jr. (Lynise) all of W-S, NC; two sisters, Pansy Hannah of Bronx, NY and Louise McCray of W-S, NC: eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Church.
