On February 20, 2024 God called his son William C. Bethea home to be with his Heavenly Father. William C. Bethea was born to Cleveland Bethea and Earlene Bethea in Forsyth County on October 26, 1960. He was educated at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools at North Forsyth Senior High School where he received his diploma.
William was formerly employed at Ashley Furniture Company. William was a jack of many trades and loved working on what he call do-it-yourself projects.
William was affectionately called "Charles" by family and friends. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, friend and mentor to many. William was a man who loved life, cars, motorcycles, and family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Earlene Bethea; brother, Cleveland "Vot" Bethea; several aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
He is survived by his son, William Gwyn; daughter, Tkeyah Singletary; 3 grands; father, Cleveland Bethea; siblings, Debra Bethea and Kenneth Bethea; former wife, Sylvia Funderburk; a devoted cousins, Vickie Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a community of friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, February 29, 2024 at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Thursday at the Church.
