Willaseaina M. Shore, lovingly known as "Sena," daughter of the late James McCoy and Jerusha Spriggs, peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. She was preceded in death by her stepson, Desie Scales.
Sena was a faithful member of United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member of the Gospel Choir, Christian Fellowship Choir, Birthday Club, Golden Ages Club, Welcome Ministry, Active Adults Ministry, and Cancer Survivors Club.
Born on June 28, 1941, in Forsyth County, Sena's life was marked by compassion, dedication, and quiet strength. After graduating from Atkins High School in Winston-Salem, NC, she continued her education at Winston-Salem State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She went on to serve the Forsyth County public school system for 30 years, touching countless young lives. Sena believed deeply in the potential of every child, offering encouragement, patience, and unwavering support to all she taught.
Following her retirement, Sena devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, the center of her world. She shared 60 years of love and partnership with her husband, Pride "Sonny" Shore, a union built on faith, humor, and deep mutual devotion. Together, they raised their son, Pride "Landrey" Shore, instilling in him the enduring values of kindness, integrity, and love. Landrey was her greatest joy, and she supported him in every chapter of his life.
Sena's heart expanded even further with the arrival of her granddaughters, Grace and Jaliyah. She embraced her role as grandmother with warmth, generosity, and limitless affection, becoming a source of love and encouragement in their lives. Whether in her home or throughout the Flanders Drive community where she lived, Sena spread kindness freely, leaving a legacy of gentle strength and compassion that will long be remembered.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Pride Shore; her loving son, Landrey Shore, and his wife, Kimberly, of Greensboro, NC; her granddaughters, Grace Price of Greensboro, NC, and Jaliyah Scales of Georgia; her brother-in-law, Thomas Shore of Winston-Salem, NC; and her sisters-in-law, Gloria Shore and Claudette Douglas, both of Winston-Salem, NC; five nieces, Sante Turner, Tia Shore, and Crystal Warren of Winston-Salem, NC, Shawnette Lew of Hawaii and Cesseli of Cleveland, OH; along with many beloved grandnieces, grandnephews, extended relatives, devoted members of the Ebony Sisters of Winston-Salem Club; special friend, Claudia Turner; and other dear friends.
Though Sena has gone home to rest, the warmth of her spirit and the depth of her love continue to guide all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts she touched and the lives she helped shape.
At the request of the family, there will be no public viewing.
