Wilhelmenia Levonia Jackson-Pledger was born on November 18, 1949, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Willie and Louise Jackson. God saw fit to call her home on Monday, September 9, 2019.

She graduated from Atkins Senior High School in 1968 and Winston-Salem State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

Wilhelmenia is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Annie Dillard; one sister, Gertrude Jackson-Carter; and one sister-in-law, Joyce Ferebee-Thatch.

Her memory and legacy are cherished by her loving husband of 48 years Willie Lee Pledger, Sr.; five children, Michelle, Christopher, Willie Jr. (Joneice), Charlitta and Joshua (Constance); one sister, Helen Jackson-Benbow; three sisters-in-law, Nellie Blount (James), Ruth Wilson and Sharon Irby; two brothers-in-law, Eddie Ferebee (Angela) and Randy Norman; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church: 2651 Buchanan Street W-S, NC 27127. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 7:00pm – 8:00pm Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel: 822 Carl Russell Ave; W-S, NC 27101.
