Wilbert Gamble, Jr., 57, was born November 8, 1956 to the late Katie Brooks Gamble and Wilbert Gamble, Sr. (Lucille). He slept away into eternal life on Thursday, May 22, 2014.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts at Tuskegee Institute. He began his professional career at the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department; then he became a resource officer with the Winston – Salem Forsyth County School system where he diligently served until he was no longer able to serve due to his health.
Wilbert leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Julie Anthony Gamble; two daughters, Corinne Bretney Gamble and Rena Elise Gamble; brothers and sisters, Louise Taylor, Albert Gant, Jesse Gamble(Linda) Randy Gamble(Sakina), Dorothy Gamble all of Phoenix City, AL, Jerry Gamble(Joyce) of W-S, NC, and Juana Sims (Mitchell) of Hurtsboro, AL; mother, Cynthia Anthony and sister, Belinda Baskett both of W-S, NC; niece, Donice Anthony of W-S, NC; great-nieces, Dominique Anthony, Taylor Anthony, and India Anthony; and nephew, Omari Fernanders all of W-S, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Second New Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Shannon L. Jessup officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Thursday at the Church.
