Obituary

Wendy LaSean Morgan Butterfield-Williamson was born on July 22, 1962 in Roberson County, North Carolina to Carl & Janie Morgan.  Being a born-again servant of God, Wendy's desire was to someday go home to be with the Lord.  On the morning of May 10, 2021 her desire was acknowledged.  A sweet delicate flower was plucked from this earthly garden and replanted in God's heavenly garden.

Wendy attended the WS/FCS where she was an honor roll student, cheerleader, "Dixie Deb", and she was one of the many queens on the football homecoming court.  Wendy was a member of the late, great-Mrs. Flonnie Anderson's Drama Class.  Wendy graduated from Parkland High School in the Class of 1980.

Wendy's first job was with an insurance company.  Working with the company provided Wendy with a wealth of knowledge.  Wendy often expressed how grateful she was to the owner of the company for giving her the opportunity to spread her wings.  Wendy later advanced into the world of banking and finance.  She quickly blossomed and she knew that banking was the career for her.  For more than 30 years, M&F Bank, the staff, and the customers shaped the surroundings and made it a home away from home.  It was like a closely knitted family providing the community with their banking needs.

Because of the love and respect Wendy had for others, she also received an abundance of love and respect.  She enhanced real beauty inside as well as outside.  Wendy was a faithful and trustworthy friend to all that knew her.  She was loved by her church family, co-workers, colleagues, and associates.  Wendy had dedicated friends near and far, it would be amiss to even try to name them all.

Wendy was preceded in death by her brother, Jasper W. Morgan and wife, Alice; and her sister-in-law, Melinda Morgan.

Left to cherish Wendy's memories are her husband, John Butterfield Williamson; two sons, Jovan Morgan and Johnell Lowery; grandson, Ciel Wolfe; her dearly devoted parents, Carl and Janie Morgan; her Morgan brothers, Howard (Hedi) of Augsburgh, Germany, Dennis (Florinda), Carl, Rex (Ellen), Frederick, and Dexter; one sister, Bonita Morgan Triplin (James); and a host of a very large and loving family.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021.
