Mr. Wendell Pasco Broadnax, 64 departed this life on June 2, 2018 at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born to the late Mansfield and Ruth Brown Broadnax in Halifax County on December 31, 1953.

Wendell received his early education in the Northampton County Schools and graduated from Gumberry High School in 1972.  He received his undergraduate education from North Carolina Central University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. Wendell worked at R.J. Reynolds and GMAC insurance in computer operations. At an early age, he joined Bethlehem Baptist Church of Seaboard, NC. He joined Second New Bethel Baptist Church of Winston-Salem, NC on November 24, 2013.

Wendell is survived by his wife of 40 years, Glenda Evonne Broadnax; he was blessed with three children, Nicole (Phillip) Allen of San Diego, CA, Brandon (Shanair) Broadnax of Atlanta, GA, and Danitra (Dontavian) Harrison of El Paso, TX; his grandchildren, Sade' Allen, Prince Nasir Allen, Zariah Broadnax and Amir Broadnax; great-niece, Genysys Scott of Prince George, VA;  his siblings, Ruth (Donald) Eaton of New Haven, CT and Phil (Pamela) Broadnax of Apex, NC; mother-in-law, Lucy Scott (William Scott, Jr.-deceased) of Garysburg, NC; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Scott of Garysburg, NC and Rev. Sheila Powell of Weldon, NC; brother-in-law, Rev. Jeffrey (Jackie) Scott of Tobaccoville, NC.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, June 8, 2018 at Second New Bethel Baptist Church.  The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Church.
