Ms. Wanda Allene Payne known to her friends as "Wanda "P" was called to glory on December 8, 2015 at the age of 65. She was born December 26, 1949 to the late Elizabeth W. Payne and John A. Brown.

Wanda "P" was an alumnus of Paisley High School. She was an employee of the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem for 20 years. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she served on several auxiliaries for many years.

She leaves to cherish precious memories two sons, Patrick L. Payne of the home and Terrance R. Payne (Artiffany) of Gilbert, Arizona; one daughter, Kindra Y. Payne of the city; six grandchildren, Kindrick J. Payne, Kinyatta L. Payne, Patrice L. Payne, Alton-Michael Graham, Terrance R. Payne II, and Teryah M. Payne; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles G. Payne, Jr. of the city; one sister, Veronica L. Payne (Tony Porter) of the city; three nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Lester Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
