"Our life is judged by the dash". On Wednesday, February 22, 2017, a man who truly made sure the dash meant something, Walter Marshall, suddenly transitioned this life. Walter was born on February 15, 1942 in Wadesboro, NC to Sarah and Andrew Marshall.
He attended and graduated high school in Anson County before moving to Winston-Salem to attend Winston-Salem State University. He graduated WSSU in 1965 with a Bachelor's Degree in PE. He continued his education by achieving his Master's Degree in Intermediate Education from NC A&T State University in 1978. Walter worked as a teacher in Guilford County schools until his retirement. Walter's work in the community has been much heralded and discussed. He spent many years fighting for the unheard and hidden figures of Forsyth County.
Walter was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah; his father, Andrew; and brothers, Michael and Bobby Ray.
