Mr. Waddell L. Shepherd was born June 22, 1951. He was called home on September 1, 2014 to be with his late parents, Karl and Elizabeth Shepherd; his brother, Carl Shepherd, Jr.; and his son, Waddell Bitting.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Melissa Shepherd of the home; his children, Greg L. Bitting, Tunisia D. Shepherd, Shontae Davis, and Rashand L. Shepherd; six grandchildren; one brother, Michael (Shirley) Shepherd; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special nieces, Tasheika and Sharon Creasy; three devoted friends, Mrs. Hattie, Roger Lampkin, and Kevin Lowery; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 9am Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Apostle Antonio Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 8:30am until 9am on Friday at the Chapel.
