Mrs. Vivian Thomas Webber, a long-time resident of Winston-Salem, NC, transitioned to her heavenly home on October 4, 2018 at the Regency of Pineville Assisted Living Facility in Pineville, NC. She was born on April 29, 1925 in Fuquay Springs, NC to the late John Archie and Willie Jane Thigpen.
Vivian graduated from Church Street High School in Thomasville, NC and Kate Bitting School of Nursing, Winston- Salem, NC. She retired from Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem on May 1, 1987. She was a lifetime member of Zion Memorial Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and the Missionary Ministry.
Vivian was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie R Thomas, Sr. in 1948. Born into this union were two children, Douise and Willie Jr. Following the death of Willie, Sr., she later married the late Alfonzo Webber.
She enjoyed attending church, singing in the choir, participation in church and community clubs, traveling, bowling, walking and spending time with family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories two children, Douise (Clarence) of Charlotte, NC and Willie, Jr. (Patricia) of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Kaneika Pinto-Rivera (Danny) of High Point, NC, Frazier McCollum of Afghanistan, Britni S. Thomas of Los Angeles, CA, Khrystina Morrison of Winston-Salem, NC, Willie R Thomas, III of Houston, TX, and Randall J. Thomas of Houston, TX; six great-grandchildren, Tea Medley of High Point, NC, Jacleigh and Josie Sorrels of Rockmart, GA, Irzy Pinto-Rivera of High Point, NC, Jordan Thomas of San Antonio, TX, and Rylee Rivers of Houston, TX; a devoted niece, Gwen Murfree of Whitsett, NC; caring neighbors, Artemus and Geneva Dixon; two play daughters, Janet Robinson and Patricia Alexander both of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, October 12, 2018 at Zion Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Cain officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
