On January 18, 2012, Vivian Virginia Crews Scippio of 416 NE 27th Street entered into eternal rest at the Oaks at Forsyth. Born in Guildford County, she was the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Vera Crews.
A 1955 graduate of Atkins High School, she was married to Johnny Scippio, Jr. for 48 years. Virginia is fondly remembered by her Emmanuel Baptist Church family and the employers where she worked.
Rich, loving memories are held by her husband; her daughter, Denise Miles (Mottie); grandchildren, Tenisha Brown (Jody) and George O'Neal; five great-grands; sisters, Rosa Lee Grier, Louise Young, Gwendolyn Gwynn, Corene Rush (Reginald),Wanda Brown and Levonia Brown; brothers, Jesse Crews(Johnnie), Charles Crews (Joann), and James Brown (Sharon); in-laws, William Scippio (Novis), Kent Scippio, Rondy Scippio, Annette Scippio, and Robert and Daisy Durrah; and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday, January 23, 2012 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1075 Shalimar Drive W-S, NC with Reverend Dr. John Mendez officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Monday at the Church.
