Mrs. Vivian "Wig" Sharpe Feaster departed this life on August 27, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Winston-Salem, NC due to renal failure.
She was born April 21, 1948 to Robert "Dank" and Janie Cox Sharpe.
She graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Pinetops, NC on June 9, 1968, and received several certifications in various courses with the community college.
She also worked part-time as a radio broadcaster for WAAA radio station in Winston-Salem.
She attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC as a loyal member until her health failed.
On October 15, 1984 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Amos Feaster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Shirley Kennedy; and two brothers, Cedric Sharpe and Quintella Sharpe.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Wanda Sharpe Robinson of the home; two grandsons, Christopher Robinson of the home and Montre' Robinson of New York, NY; dear friend who is the father of her daughter, Otis Barnes, Jr. of Wilson, NC; six sisters, Cynthia (Monte) Burns of Winston-Salem, NC, Tasha (Clinton) Hoggard, Sylvia Sharpe, Shelia (Robert) Petteway, and Ella (Lonnie) Bullock all of Rocky Mount, NC and Tonya Sharpe of Tarboro, NC; seven brothers, Robert Lee (Joyce) Sharpe, Jr., Ronald (Carolyn) Sharpe, and Eric Sharpe all of Rocky Mount, NC, Rev. Tyrone (Rose) Sharpe of South Plainfield, NJ, Isaac (Naomi) Sharpe of Raleigh, NC, Carl Sharpe of Jefferson, MO, and Marvin (Sybil) Johnson of New York, NY; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, September 1, 2011 at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist church, 5000 Noble Street Winston-Salem, with Rev. James E. Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
