Mrs. Virginia "Faye" Taylor Hatcher of 765 Trinity Church Road, Tobaccoville, NC was born December 24, 1938 in Surry County to Cobe and China Taylor.
"Granny Faye" as known to everyone, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 1, 2008 after fighting an extensive battle.
She is a retiree of Sara Lee Direct in Rural Hall, NC. She was a devoted member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain, NC where she served on the following organizations: Food committee, senior choir, Pastor's Aid, Head Usher Board, and the Pastor honored her as Mother of the Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Hatcher; two brothers, Jackie Stewart and John D. Taylor; and one sister, Mary Lee Hickman.
"Granny Faye's" memories are cherished by one son, Lewis Donnell (Francene) Hatcher of Rural Hall, NC; two daughters, Cheryl Darlene Higgins of the home and Tonya (Stephen, Sr.) Myers of Winston-Salem, NC; two sisters, Althea Dobson of Westfield, NC and Dairetha Mitchell of Forrestville, MD; eight grandchildren, Chikeya (Patrick) Davenport, LaKesha (Neil) Golden, LaTarsha Hatcher (Colin Holiday), Jessica Hooper, Louis Hatcher, LaParis Hatcher, Erica Johnson and Stephen Myers, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Derrick Evans, Cierra Leach, Cedric Hooper, Jr. and Mykei Davenport; three sisters-in-law, Rachel Dodd, Margie Stewart, and Geraldine Taylor; two brothers-in-law, Gentry (Stella) Hatcher and Amos Hickman; a devoted niece, Annette Phillips; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members, Savannah, Earnest Johnson and family, the Fulp family, Allen Patten, Dana Allen, Frankie (Haliey & Brady) James, Nova Wright, Novella Wilson, Kenny Branson, Recder Smith, KC Lee and a loving friend, Sara Gentry.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, July 5, 2008 from the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Pinnacle, NC with Reverend Steve Stowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Saturday at the Church.
