On Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, God sent His angels to come down and bring back our angel, Mrs. Viola Thomas, our beloved grandmother and sister. She was born on April 17, 1928, in Kingstree, S.C. Viola Thomas retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system after 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Mabry; mother Lillie Woods-Mabry; husband Joe Thomas Jr.; and brother Willie Mabry. Cherishing memories are her sister, Edna Noble; grandchildren Sterling (Jimmie) Lloyd, Pastor Aldine (Sandra) Ingram Jr. and Pamela (Anthony) King; a daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Roseboro; a special family friend, Howard Davis; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Homegoing services will be conducted at noon Monday, Jan. 22, in the chapel of Russell Funeral Home, with Pastor Aldine Ingram Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
