Vincent "Bim" Edward McRae Sr., 69, of Rural-Hall, NC passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021.  He was born August 25, 1952 in Anson County to Mae Frances McRae and James Edward McRae.  Upon graduating from Anderson Senior High School in 1970, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served from 1971 to 1973 in Southeast Asia; he received an honorable discharge.

He received his associates degree from Forsyth Technical Community College in 1978, and started his career at ITT Grennall as a welding inspector where he worked for ten years.  He went on to work at S&ME Inc. for 31 years as an Engineering Technician and retired in 2017.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gencie Robertson McRae; his father, James Edward McRae; and one brother, Glen McRae.

He is survived by his mother, Mae Frances McRae; one son, Vincent (Regina) Edward McRae, Jr.; two daughters, Chanetta (James) Lashonda McRae and Amanda (Antonio) Rachelle McRae-Williams; six grandchildren, Tahj McRae, Jordan McRae, Janaisya McRae, Nazarya McRae, Ashton Williams, and Ava Williams; six sisters, Dorothy Pettus, Lois McRae Burks, Cheryl McRae Inzar, Phyllis McRae, Valeria McRae, and Lynetta McRae; and two brothers, Gregory McRae and Wylie McRae.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Zion Memorial Baptist Church, 101 N. Dunleith Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 with Reverend Randal Cain officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Wednesday at the Church.
