Videll Sewell Barber departed this life and entered eternal rest on April 2, 2008. Mrs. Barber was born September 28, 1930 in Toccoa, Georgia to Coy and Maggie Meriwether Sewell.
She attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and graduated from Toccoa City Schools. She graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and retired from the Bethlehem-Kimberly Park Day Care Center after 21 years of service.
Mrs. Barber was an active member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Church Clerk for 40 years. She had a special love and joy for her Church Family and the Seniors Ministry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Annie Sue Sewell; and her son-in-law, Edmond L. Ingram.
Mrs. Barber is survived by her husband of 53 years, James T. Barber, Sr.; one son, James T. Barber, Jr. of the home; her daughter, Anita Barber Ingram of Charlotte, NC; a devoted friend, Sallie Mae McFadden; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, April 7, 2008 from the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Nathan E. Scovens officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Monday at the Church.
