Staff Sergeant Victor McKennley Taylor, 55, departed this life on Monday, November 26, 2012 after a brief illness. He was born May 10, 1957. Sergeant Taylor served in the United States Army receiving numerous awards before retiring with honors after twenty years.
He was an active member of Genesis Victory Outreach Center located in Walkertown, NC. He was a very loving, outgoing, and caring person with a unique personality, who loved to make others laugh. Vic' had a heart as big as the world and would do anything to help others.
Sergeant Taylor was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Taylor, Sr.; and his sister, Zoretta Peoples.
He leaves to cherish his life his mother, Geraldine Shepherd of W-S, NC; sister, Mrs. Marilyn T. Thomas (Claude) of Walkertown, NC; brother, Ralph Taylor, Jr. of W-S, NC; a very close life-long friend, Mark Williams; a good friend, Chris, who took care of his dogs; "T-C" who checked in on Vic' daily; and he will be greatly missed by a host of nieces and cousins, a special brother-in-law, Julius Peoples; and a two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Genesis Victory Outreach Center. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11am on Tuesday at the Church.
