Mrs. Vicki Horne Miles of Walkertown, NC was born March 9, 1952 to Ida Massey Horne and Edgar Horne. She departed this life Monday, April 6, 2015.

She graduated from Atkins High School in the class of 1970 and received her associate's degree from Forsyth Technical Community College. Vicki was Baptist by faith. She retired from Novant Health after over 30 years of employment. She enjoyed arts and crafts in her leisure time but her passion was music and singing. She shared her gift of singing with others as the co-lead vocalist of the band, The Agency.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Edwina Gail Horne-Matte.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of nearly 35 years, Vernell D. Miles; daughter, Sheri of Winston-Salem, NC: son, Nathan (Ashley) of Murfreesboro, TN; 4 grandchildren, Ronald (Zephaniah), Elijah, Elisha, and Julian; her mother, Ida Massey Horne; her siblings, Edgar Keith (Bernice) Horne, Ricky (Pamela) Horne, Sr., Carla "Michelle" Horne Mason, and Rhonda (David) Horne Padgett; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Johnny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
