Obituary
Mrs. Vernell Wright Spratt of 181 Athens Drive, Winston-Salem, NC passed away October 10, 2008 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
She was born March 3, 1926 and was a graduate of Atkins High School.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church was retired from Western Electric.
Mrs. Spratt was preceded in death by her parents, Thomasina Morrison Wright and William Wright; her siblings, Earlene Wright Harriston, Willie Wright, Jr., and Lois Wright. She was married to the late Benjamin Spratt.
She is survived by her nieces, Korliss McKean DeVoe of Maryland, Beverly Knight and Shelia Scott Kandell; nephews, Will Wright of California, Willie Hailstock; a host of cousins and friends; a special caregiver, Mrs. Lucretia "Trish" McNeely and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 Saturday, October 18, 2008 from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Sherwood Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 12:30pm on Saturday at the Church.
The family will assemble and leave from the home of Mrs. Spratt at 181 Athens Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
