Mrs. Vera Moore Sheff, 62, of 4769 Ader Drive passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on February 17, 1945 in Hastings, Nebraska, the daughter of John D. Moore and Lottie Caldwell Moore. Vera grew up in Winston-Salem, NC where she was a graduate of Carver High School and Winston-Salem State University. Vera was a retired employee of the Employment Security Commission. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Alfonso Moore, Velma Parriman and Charles William Moore.

She leaves behind a host of family and friends, including her husband, Lonnie E. Sheff; daughters, Lonnell Johston, Valerie Shelton and Chrystal Lewis all of North Carolina. Vera will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Emmanuel Shelton, Jasmine Johnston, Shannell Sheff and Rayshaun McMillan; as well as Camryn and Chyanne Lewis; sisters, Frances M. Summers and Elizabeth Covington. Vera's Church family for over 30 years, Phillips Chapel Baptist Church will miss her and the love she shared with many. Vera served those she loved faithfully and her smile brought joy to many. Her memory will be cherished by many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Phillips Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 1:00 PM on Monday at the Church.
