Obituary
Mrs. Velma Lee Warren Sligh was born November 13, 1949 to Mary Ellen Hudley Warren and Frank Nelson Warren. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 7, 2014 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
She retired from Hanes Hosiery and Burlington Coat Factory. She was a lifelong member of Macedonia Worship Center where she served on the Deaconess Board, Couples Ministry, Young Adult Choir, and the Missionary Circle.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband of 42 years, Napoleon Sligh, Jr.; brother, Benny Lee Warren (Maybell); one niece, Robin Williams; three nephews, Clarence Hosch, Tierre Warren, and Benny A. Warren of the city; loving sister-in-law, Linda Spinks (Michael) of Arlington, TX; and a host of loving cousins, relatives, Macedonia Church Family, special friends, Kenneth Singletary (Mary) and Streeter McCoy (Gloria), and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Macedonia Worship Center with Apostle SD Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Tuesday at the Church.
