Vanessa Williams passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health after a long period of illness.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James "Bud" Grinnell; and her grandmother, Vera Williams.
She leaves to cherish her grandmother, Martha Grinnell of Sumter, SC; her father and mother, Willie & Ida Grinnell Williams; a loving daughter, Janise Williams (Tyrone Leach); granddaughter, Cherell Robinson and grandson, Tyreik Leach of Winston-Salem, NC; her sisters, Willie Mae (Frank) Morris of Winston-Salem, NC, Deirdre (Bobby) Junior of Charlotte, NC, and Sabrina Gibbs of Columbia, SC; nephews, Nathaniel Menefee, Nechorus Morris, and Bobby "BJ" Junior; niece, Britteny Junior; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dairl Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
