Valerie Currence Williams, 56, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2018. Valerie was born May 31, 1961 to Mary Douglas and Herman Currence Jr. in Raleigh, North Carolina. Valerie graduated from Parkland High School in 1979 where she reigned as Homecoming Queen in 1978 and Prom Queen her Senior year in 1979. Valerie was a devoted mother to her four children. She was a devout follower of God who sought her complete satisfaction in Him; reading Gods word daily in order to deepen her faith and find her way. She would spread God's word with humility and joy to others. Much of her time and energy was spent on sharing an abundance of her love to her children and grandchildren. Her charm and generous smile enlightened all that were in her presence. Her greatest accomplishment in life, what she was most proud of, was her children and grandchildren.

Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her daughters; Michelle Williams, Katarina Williams, Anastasia Williams, and her step son Monty Williams; her grandchildren whom she adored, Lael, Jada, Faith, Janna, Genesis, Caleb, Malachi, Elijah, Jael, Micah, Carlos, and Kingston; her mothers, Mary Douglas Frierson and Delores Currence; her sisters, Tammy Edney, Mary Beth Frierson, Melissa Currence, and Patrice Hayes; her brothers, Kent Tolliver, Herman Currence III (Mildred), Dwight Currence, Patrick Currence, Jeffery Mark Currence (Yolanda), Chad Chontz, Jermaine Currence, and Ken Frierson; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Herman Currence Jr.; her grandmothers, Sadie Currence and Mary Douglas; and her grandfather Herman Currence Sr.
